Switching from USB to Virtual COM port communication

If you are interested in switching a HSRF-500 USB scanner from USB to serial communication without acquiring serial cables and power supply, here is what you need to do:

1. Click here to be directed to the download page for USB Virtual COM Drivers.
2. Click on the CR5000 product and you will see a list of downloads.
3. Go to the bottom of the list and you will see two choices for USB VCOM drivers.  SEE BELOW.  Select the one that matches your OS and CLICK “I agree to the . . . ” and proceed to download the driver onto your PC by clicking on the DOWNLOAD ARROW.

4. After you load the correct driver for your OS onto your PC, go into your PC’s DEVICE MANAGER > PORTS and point the scanner to the COM port noted as “USB to Virtual COM Port.”
