Ensure that the USB plug is connected firmly into the computer.
Ensure that the USB cable is fully plugged into the back of the reader.
NOTE: In the second picture, the cable is not fully plugged in. The line on the cable is not flush with the cable insertion area. This could potentially cause both power and communication issues.
When plugging in the USB cable into the reader, push the cable in until you hear a “click,” then press once more until the last line on the cable is flush with the insertion area. The reader has power if red lights appear when something is placed in front of the scan window. If you’ve checked these steps and the unit still has no power, please contact Huzzards tech support staff to get a replacement.
